When purchasing the Heatrub Ultimate or the Heatrub Move baselayer please note that due to the fabrics used and the manufacturing process for each garment, the Ultimate comes up slightly smaller than the Move.

Both products are designed for a snug but not overly tight fit, and the stretch properties of the fabrics in the Ultimate and Move allow the user to move freely, whatever their sport or activity.

The chances are, you’ve heard or read about ‘layering up’ as the only way to effectively keep cold temperatures at bay. Layer upon layer, restricting movement, making you sweaty and uncomfortable. AWFUL. But here at Zerofit, we believe in a very different approach. Our baselayer collection is designed to minimise the number of layers you need, whether that be with the Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer or Heatrub Move Baselayer.

This means greater freedom of movement, comfort and because of the pioneering Japanese technology utilised in the production of our baselayers, you will also experience superior warmth and temperature regulation.

But how should you wear our baselayers for optimal performance? Here are the most frequently asked questions – answered!

I’ve bought a Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer – what should I wear under it and over it?

The Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer should be worn directly against your skin, and you would wear another item of clothing over it such as a polo shirt, a jacket or waterproofs. Because it’s five times warmer than a regular baselayer, there is no need for multiple layers over the top, giving you superior freedom of movement for all activities.

I’ve bought a Heatrub Move Baselayer – what should I wear under it and over it?

The Heatrub Move Baselayer should be worn directly against your skin, there is no need for any layer underneath it. Regarding layers over the top, this depends on what sport or activity you’re using the Move for. If you’re a runner or a cyclist, we would encourage you to use the Move as the only layer you’ll need for those activities, but the technology still works if, for example, you’re a motorcyclist who is using it and needing leathers or a jacket over the top.

Are Zerofit baselayers unisex?

All of our baselayers are designed for male and female users – the stretch fabric of the material across the collection means the baselayers adapt to body contours.

How should my Heatrub Ultimate baselayer fit?

The Heatrub Ultimate do not work on compression or tightness to keep you warm – the Heat Threads actively generate the warmth rather than trapping your body warmth using compression as a technology. Therefore, it should be a snug fit against your body shape but not uncomfortably tight. You should be able to comfortably put your hands over your head and freely move your shoulders and arms without it feeling restrictively tight.

How have you worked out your size chart?

Our size chart is based on chest sizes assuming a regular body shape. If you have a larger than standard tummy you may be better to choose the next size up as more fabric is required to ensure the garment does not ‘ride up’. Similarly, if you’re a gym bunny and you’ve got a strong upper body in the chest and shoulders, always go up a size. For women, the same advice would apply to bust sizes.

Your size chart is based on chest sizes – how does the rest of the garment change as the chest size increases?

All parts of the garment increase in measurement as you go up the sizes, so the arms get longer and the body length of the baselayer increases too. If in doubt, always go up a size when it comes to the Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer.

Is there much difference between sizes?

Due to the unique stretch of the baselayer, you will find you can get into a number of sizes with a neater fit on the smaller sizes. Some consumers like a neater fit others like a looser fit, thus there is not a huge difference between sizes.

Are all Zerofit baselayer styles the same fit?

There are slight differences between the MOVE and the other garments which follow the same size pattern. We recommend large in an ultimate is a 40-44” chest, in the MOVE its 43-47”. If you are a standard body shape and a 43/44” chest you could order large in both.

How does your fit compare to other brands?

In our experience there are three main fits - USA fit (oversize), Scandinavian fit (slim) and UK fit (standard) and our products follow a UK fit. If you are used to USA brands, Zerofit products fit a little neater and if you are used to brands that are aimed at the Scandinavian market they will be a little bigger. Please note that some of the big brands offer different fits in the USA to that in Europe.

Why is the Neckline looser on the Heatrub Ultimate than a regular baselayer?

This is a design feature specific to this baselayer – during testing, analysis and feedback indicated that the traditional tight, high neckline created significant overheating for the users – our Japanese engineers created a more relaxed neckline to allow some heat to escape in order to minimise this issue.

Will the outer fabric on the Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer pill or bobble?

Due to the small element of wool (7%) in the Ultimate, there is a chance of pilling. In order to reduce the risk, we advise customers to wash the product inside out, and use a fabric shaver to help de-bobble the baselayer. Please note, this issue has only happened to a handful of customers.

How do I wash my Zerofit baselayers?

Washing instructions are stated on the website product pages, but all garments can be machine washed at 30-40° - please do not use a tumble dryer afterwards.

All GB parcels are delivered by DHL on a TWO WORKING day basis where orders are placed before the 2.30pm cutoff.

In the event that orders are received after 2.30pm they will be shipped the following day to be received two working days thereafter. In the event that orders are received after 2.30pm on Friday and before 2.30pm on Monday the goods will be shipped on Monday arriving at the destination on Wednesday.

So that you receive the replacement goods as soon as possible, we advise that you place another order online as soon as you are aware that you will have to return the original purchase. This will minimise delay rather than having to wait for the goods to reach us and then be processed. In the case that you do not wish to place another order and would like a full refund, let us know and we will do this as soon as we receive your order back.

RETURNS FROM OUTSIDE THE UK AND IRELAND

In order to maintain the highest level of service we use DHL to all locations outside Ireland and as such in order to keep our pricing competitive we subsidize all freight costs to these locations we therefore regrettably cannot offer free returns outside the UK. We will however subsidise your return to the rates shown on our delivery section. On receipt of the goods we will organise a refund LESS the value of the freight from your location back to us in the UK. Should you wish to use your own carrier to return the goods the full amount of your purchase price will be refunded. Please carefully consult limitations on returns as listed above.

If you would prefer, you may also take the items you wish to return to our store where one of our members of staff will be happy to help. Please ensure that you bring your confirmation email, that you received after you placed your order, as your proof of purchase.

Collection from your home by DHL – We use DHL as a courier, we also offer a pick-up option with them for returns. After this a collection will be set up on a day that suits you to return the items to us. * Please note we cannot arrange the time it will be collected (e.g. 11.00-12.00) only the day that it will be collected.Drop off at Hermes Parcel Shop- If you’re not going to be in during the day, don’t have a safe place to leave your parcel for collection or want to return your parcel at a time that suits you, then a parcel shop is the perfect solution. To do this please contact info@zerofit.co.uk to state which items are being returned and receive your free returns docket. Then all you need to do is hand your parcel over at the counter. Returning goods that came with a free gift

Any free goods that came with the item you wish to return for a refund should be returned if unused and in its original packaging. If you have used the free gift, then it should be kept, and the value will be taken off the balance that will be given back to you. Free gifts cannot be returned on their own for their original value or exchanged for a gift voucher.

Product contains 7% wool so as with any wool product there will be a minimal amount of pilling (bobbling). This can be reduced by washing the product inside out and using an anti-pilling detergent.

Cold Skin Baselayer

Marking a ground-breaking moment in the history of performance apparel, the new Cold Skin Baselayer that has been independently tested and proven to be three times colder than a standard competitor product.

Designed for the height of the warm summer months, the new Zerofit Cold Skin Baselayer offers motorcyclists, hikers, anglers, golfers, runners, cyclists and team sport players instant cool, dry comfort as the Japanese brand aims to shift the mindset around how a baselayer can offer significant performance benefits in temperatures of up to 40° Celsius.

The product was subject to Q-max testing at the Kaken Test Centre in Japan – this examination offers up an analysis of how cool the surface of the Cold Skin fabric is. The higher the Q-max value, the cooler the fabric.

Currently, if the Q-max value of a product is 0.1 W/cm2 or more, it is recognized as having ‘cool contact performance’. The Cold Skin recorded a value of 0.298W/cm2 – whereas a standard competitor product would typically score below 0.1 W/cm2, a measurement method defined by Japanese Industrial Standards.

Integral to this breakthrough development in the baselayer market is ‘Cold-to-Touch’ (CTT) Technology from Zerofit, a fresh innovation for 2023/24. Cold from the moment it touches your skin, the baselayer technology utilises innovative fibres that are engineered to absorb heat and spread it over the body surface.

This quickly delivers an efficient cooling feeling which can help boost concentration in the hottest of conditions. The thin and lightweight fabric disperses sweat rapidly creating a quick dry feeling without stress on the skin or causing a restriction of movement.

Protection from the sun’s harmful rays has also been factored into the Cold Skin, with the garment having a maximum UPF50+ rating, and it is available in both black and white. It also uses Polygiene StayFresh™ silver ion antibacterial treatment which suppresses 99% of odour-causing bacteria and additionally helps to eliminate sweat odour.
