Base Brothers! Andrew Irwin Joins Glenn On Team Zerofit for BSB Season.

Zerofit is thrilled to announce the signing of Bennetts British Superbike contender Andrew Irwin to the brand for the 2024 season, joining brother Glenn in a growing stable of elite level talent on the track.

The 29-year-old relied on the cool, dry performance of the Ice Weave Baselayer during his first outing as a Zerofit athlete last week at Donington Park, finishing with points in all three races including a season’s best 7th spot in a highly competitive Race 3 at the Midlands circuit.

In addition to the Ice Weave, Andrew will also use the Cold Skin Baselayer and Cold Skin Leggings during the current campaign and both he and Championship leader Glenn will continue to test new products in between race weeks, confirmed Michael Morton, Zerofit MD.

‘Andrew has firmly established himself as one of the best riders on the BSB scene, and we are delighted and proud to add him to the athlete roster for 2024,’ he said.

‘The Ice Weave and Cold Skin products are ideal for the demands of top-level racing and everyday use, and we have enjoyed hearing feedback from the riders across the BSB on how the baselayers perform.

‘Both the Ice Weave and Cold Skin have been well-received by the wider motorcycling community and we know that both baselayers will offer significant benefits for commuters and adventure riders this summer,’ concluded Mr Morton.

The Ice Weave Baselayer offers motorcyclists game-changing levels of sweat management and cool comfort during the hottest months of the year and is the most technologically advanced product in the summer baselayer collection.

The unisex Ice Weave has been designed and manufactured exclusively in Zerofit’s Japanese homeland and offers a solution the problems caused by excess sweating in temperatures up to 40° Celsius, removing cold sweat from your skin and wicking it away efficiently.

The secret lies in the ‘Cold Threads’ technology that works to minimise the effects of warm weather on performance. The cloud-shaped cross section has a large contact area with the body and this advancement in baselayer technology, combined with the seamless Tateami original warp manufacturing method, helps to remove sweat from the skin and the quick dry nature of the material ensures incredible levels of non-stick comfort.

The material offers a stretch capacity of 500% (versus its base state) giving motorcyclists maximum flexibility and an icy cold feeling all over their body. It also uses Polygiene StayFresh™ silver ion antibacterial treatment which suppresses 99% of odour-causing bacteria and additionally helps to eliminate sweat odour.

Andrew returns to action at Knockhill in Round 9, 10 and 11 of BSB, starting on June 14th.
