History Made As Zerofit Proves Best At The North West

Zerofit athletes were dominant force at this year’s North West as Storm Stacey, Glenn Irwin and Peter Hickman led the victory charge on Northern Ireland’s glorious coastal Causeway.

In addition to the two historic wins claimed by debutant Stacey in the Superstock and Superbike classes, Irwin secured his legacy as the greatest superbike rider in the 97-year history of the iconic event as he notched up win number 12 on the Triangle Course.

The evergreen also Peter Hickman charged to the finish lane in the first Sportbike Race of the weekend. All athletes relied on the cool contact performance of the IceSkin baselayer, which has been independently tested and proven to be three and a half times colder than a competitor product, making it the ideal summer baselayer for riders of all descriptions.

As well as the four victories, Zerofit athlete Dean Harrison finished second in four of the six races, with fellow brand ambassador Paul Jordan also recording a runner-up spot. Alastair Seeley finished in third spot in both Supertwin/Sportbike races.

And in the final superbike feature race of the weekend, Zerofit athletes secured a clean sweep of the podium with Stacey, Harrison and Irwin finishing first, second and third – the first time Zerofit athletes have achieved such a feat at the NW.

The achievements were witnessed by Charley Boorman (pictured above with Peter Hickman), who was visiting the North West for the first team to create ‘Bigger…Better…Faster’, a new Zerofit-commissioned film highlighting the history of the event.

‘Everyone at Zerofit was ecstatic for the riders who achieved such incredible results and we were so pleased for Storm, Glenn and Peter who finished on the top step. Storm’s debut was simply stunning, and we are delighted to have him on board,’ said Michael Morton, Zerofit Managing Director.

‘The people in our sports marketing department work incredibly hard to identify the talent who we want to partner with, and of 60 top 10 places available across the six races, 29 spots were occupied by Zerofit athletes, which is hugely satisfying.

‘The athletes are so finely tuned when it comes to the performance of the bikes, and indeed, themselves. Our technical baselayers are developed with the same attention to detail, and we are seeing more and more riders requesting our products to help keep them cool and comfortable while competing.

But while the IceSkin is hugely beneficial for these elite riders, it is now becoming an essential purchase for everyday riders during the summer months. Nothing works like a Zerofit baselayer when it comes to keeping you cool and dry in the hottest months of the year,’ he added.
