Brand New IceSkin Baselayers And Leggings For Summer Rides

Motorcyclists all over the world can now experience the cool contact performance of the hugely popular IceSkin Baselayer in four new styles in time for summer.

In addition to the short-sleeve and long-sleeve mock neck, bikers can choose the IceSkin Vest in Mock or V-Neck, as well as a the IceSkin V-Neck in both Short and Long Sleeve options, ensuring all bases are covered.

We are also delighted to introduce the new IceSkin Leggings made from the same materials as the baselayers for all-over body cooling in temperatures up to 40° Celsius. All IceSkin products retail at £59.95 each.

A Fusion Of Technologies

Competing at the elite level of racing for more than a decade, Glenn Irwin challenged us to create a baselayer that kept him cool and sweat free in the heat of competition.

Designers in Japan used a combination of Cool Stamp Tech® on the front of the IceSkin and Rhombus Mesh Design on the back to achieve just that.

And while Glenn and hundreds of other elite riders benefit from the technology, so do hundreds of thousands of everyday riders on summer commutes, adventure rides and tours.

How We Measure The Cool Factor – Kenichi Mori, Design Lead

‘Cool Stamp Tech is a printing processing method with a new cooling effect that has been developed by Zerofit’s parent company. It is mainly made up of two cooling processing methods (menthol-based and xylitol-based),’ said Mr Mori.

‘There are nine types of ‘temperature sensors’ called TRPs on human skin, and people sense temperature when each sensor is activated. The menthol-based processing agent in Cool Stamp Tech contains an ingredient that activates temperature sensors and sends a signal to the brain that it feels cold, so that the temperature feels lower than it actually is,’ Mr Mori concluded.

It Really IS THREE AND A HALF TIMES COLDER!

During Q-Max testing, the IceSkin recorded a value of 0.358W/cm2 – whereas a standard competitor product would typically score below 0.1 W/cm2, more than THREE AND A HALF TIMES cooler than a competitor baselayer.

The new Rhombus Mesh Design on the back of the IceSkin baselayer has been innovated to target the area where perspiration builds up the most.

The unique structure lets in air and quickly absorbs and disperses moisture from inside the garment, preventing unpleasant stickiness and chills from sweat, and helping to keep you dry and comfortable.

Ice Cool IceSkin Leggings

The Leggings utilise the same innovative technologies as the baselayer, namely Cool Stamp Tech® and Rhombus Mesh Design pattern, which have been strategically positioned for ultimate comfort and performance.

While the Cool Stamp Tech® has been applied to the majority of the leggings, the Rhombus Mesh pattern has been added to three sweat zones where perspiration accumulates the most, namely the crotch, base of the back and behind the knees.

More than 100 riders in the BSB Championship, North West 200 and Isle of Man TT will rely on the performance of the IceSkin Leggings (and baselayers) this season.
