Filming is now complete for the Zerofit-commissioned ‘Bigger…Better…Faster’ which highlights the magnificence of the North West 200 through the eyes of adventure riding legend Charley Boorman.
The filmmaker extraordinaire and Zerofit ambassador is producing the film under the directorship of Luke Whatley-Bigg, who previously worked with Charley on the ‘Long Way’ series.

Charley officially opened this year’s NW200 with a parade lap of the 8.9-mile Triangle Course on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, alongside Zerofit athlete Glenn Irwin.
While the modern-day competitors will feature heavily in the production, Charley learned about the storied history of the event as well as the heroes of the North West 200 from yesteryear, with visits to the Joey Dunlop Memorial Gardens and his iconic Bar in Ballymoney, where he also met Joey’s wife Linda (pictured below).

During filming, race and adventure fans interacted and engaged with Charley throughout race week, as he soaked up the atmosphere and talked to supporters, local businesses and the organisers – including Event Director Mervyn Whyte - to fully immerse himself in the wonderful experience of the North West.
Charley attended this year’s ‘Meet The Stars’ rider event at Coleraine Town Hall on Friday, May 8, before discussing the film at a special ‘Pit Lane Patter Chat Show’ VIP Night later that evening in the Paddock’s Hospitality marquee (pictured below).

Producers came to Northern Ireland’s stunning North Coast in April – many of whom for the first time - to capture some of its finest sights, including the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and White Rocks Beach, to set the scene for a storytelling masterclass.
As Glenn Irwin returned to the famous Triangle Course two years after becoming the most successful superbike rider in the history of the event, the film will feature interviews with him and his close family, highlighting the reasons for his return and why – ultimately – the lure of competitive road racing at the North West was too much to resist.

While Glenn’s story of returning legend is an irresistible main plot, the team at Zerofit have put together an ensemble cast of supporting characters for Charley to interview, including Storm Stacey, Alastair Seeley, Peter Hickman, Davey Todd, Jeremy McWilliams, John McGuinness, Dean Harrison, Richard Cooper and Christian Elkin.
It was also a standout week for the Zerofit brand with new signing Storm Stacey winning twice on debut, with Glenn and Peter Hickman also collection stunning victories. Zerofit athletes accounted for 29 of the 60 top 10 places available in the six races, with podiums for the likes of Dean Harrison, Paul Jordan and Alastair Seeley.

There was also a podium clean sweep (pictured above) in the Feature Superbike race, with Storm, Dean and Glenn finishing in first, second and third respectively.
Everyone at Zerofit and those involved in the film would like to thank Mervyn Whyte and his team at the North West 200, as well as all of the riders and individuals who took took part in the production.
‘Bigger…Better…Faster’ will be released later in 2026.
