Ryde On Time With Zerofit Ice Weave Baselayer For BSB Double Delight At Cadwell

Ryde On Time With Zerofit Ice Weave Baselayer For BSB Double Delight At Cadwell
Nottinghamshire hotshot Kyle Ryde debuted the Ice Weave Baselayer and matching Leggings at the latest weekend of the Bennetts British Superbikes (BSB) Championship at Cadwell Park…and promptly scorched to victory in Race One and Three, with a runners-up spot in Race Two, results that significantly boosted his chances of a maiden title.

It was the first time the 27-year-old had worn Zerofit products in competition but after just a few tests in the building up to Cadwell, the OMG Grilla Yamaha man was in no doubt as to the performance benefits the Ice Weave products would give him, as it proved over an exhilarating Bank holiday weekend.

His performances also saw Kyle crowned Pirelli King of the Mountain, the Trophy awarded for hightest points total in the first two races.

Zerofit athlete Lee Jackson enjoyed his best outing of the season too with three podium finishes from the three races, coming second in Race One, and third in Race Two and Three.
Fellow Zerofit man Glenn Irwin battled hard to secure three consecutive fifth place finishes for a total of 33 points at the Lincolnshire Track, with all three guys relying on the performance of the Ice Weave products.
But Why Is The Ice Weave So Good And How Does It Work?

Excessive sweating robs you of strength, energy, and can affect concentration, which is why it's so important to keep sweat away from your skin and wick it away efficiently – a solution offered by the Ice Weave Baselayer.

As the award-winning Zerofit Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer uses ‘Heat Threads’ on the inside of the garment to generate warmth, the Ice Weave Baselayer has been designed with ‘Cold Threads’ technology that works to minimise the effects of warm weather on performance.
Innovated for temperatures of between 20° and 40° Celsius, the Ice Weavefeatures a technologically advanced cloud-shaped cross section that has a large contact area with the body. Together with the seamless Tateami original warp manufacturing method, this innovative design removes sweat from the skin and the quick dry nature of the material ensures incredible levels of all-day comfort.

The material has a stretch capacity of 500% (versus its base state) giving motorcyclists an icy cold feeling all over their body and allowing them a range of motion. It also uses Polygiene StayFresh™ silver ion antibacterial treatment which suppresses 99% of odour-causing bacteria and additionally helps to eliminate sweat odour.
Athlete Approval As Standard

Zerofit MD Michael Morton was thrilled to see another major contender for the BSB crown switch to the Japanese baselayer brand, mid-season.

‘Athletes do not change products lightly, but the Ice Weave Baselayer and Leggings offer such a significant competitive advantage and we are seeing more and more riders come to us asking for product. Danny Kent – who is sixth in the Championship – offered to buy his own, such were the reviews of the other guys in the paddock.

‘But while the Ice Weave is perfect for these guys, it’s also ideal for everyday motorcyclists. The fact that the riders have embraced Zerofit, shows the undoubted performance benefits our baselayers offer,’ he concluded.
Making An Impact In The BSB Paddock

In addition to Kyle, Lee and Glenn, Zerofit baselayers are also worn by multiple other riders in the BSB and the Support Classes, including Andrew Irwin, Simon Reid, Danny Kent, Richard Cooper, Sam Laffins, Peter Willis, Scott Swann and Nikki Coates (pictured), who also picked up a win in Heat One of the ABK Beer 0% BMW Motorrad F900 R Cup.

With three race weekends remaining in the 2024 season, Glenn sits third in the Championship standings, behind Kyle in second, but both are within striking distance of the leader. Lee’s outstanding performance sees him move up to eighth.

The BSB returns at Oulton Park on September 13th-15th and tickets are available buy here.
