Motorcyclists Assemble! The Sun’s Out, The IceSkin’s On!

The warmer temperatures are finally arriving this week so there’s never been a better time to get your hands on the Zerofit IceSkin Baselayer, now available in the highly-popular black colourway in both long and short-sleeve.

And it's officially more than THREE AND A HALF TIMES cooler than a competitor baselayer!

Currently, if the Q-max value of a product is 0.1 W/cm2 or more, it is recognized as having ‘cool contact performance’. The IceSkin recorded a value of 0.358W/cm2 – whereas a standard competitor product would typically score below 0.1 W/cm2, a measurement method defined by Japanese Industrial Standards.

It is worn by hundreds of athletes competing all around the world in elite racing, including Glenn Irwin, Scott Redding, Peter Hickman, Danny Kent and Alastair Seeley.

The IceSkin combines two innovations – Cool Stamp Tech® on the front of the baselayer and Rhombus Mesh Design on the back.

It has quickly become one of our best-selling products and Lead Designer Kenichi Mori explains how these technologies work to keep you cool in temperatures up to 40° Celsius.

‘Cool Stamp Tech is a printing processing method with a new cooling effect that has been developed by Zerofit’s parent company. It is mainly made up of two cooling processing methods (menthol-based and xylitol-based),’ said Mr Mori.

‘There are nine types of ‘temperature sensors’ called TRPs on human skin, and people sense temperature when each sensor is activated. The menthol-based processing agent in Cool Stamp Tech contains an ingredient that activates temperature sensors and sends a signal to the brain that it feels cold, so that the temperature feels lower than it actually is,’ Mr Mori concluded.

The new Rhombus Mesh Design on the back of the IceSkin baselayer has been innovated to target the area where perspiration builds up the most.

The unique structure lets in air and quickly absorbs and disperses moisture from inside the garment, preventing unpleasant stickiness and chills from sweat, and helping to keep you dry and comfortable.
