Say No to Cold Sweat with Weave Collection
With the feel of summer arriving with a lovely warm blast, Japanese sports performance brand Zerofit has unveiled their new Weave Collection that has been designed to offer a performance benefit to athletes training or competing in warmer climes.
The range features a trio of new baselayers – the Thermo Weave, Cool Weave and Zero Weave – that are progressively lighter and more breathable to match a natural increase in temperature as the spring gives way to summer.
The Thermo Weave utilises a polypropylene technology which forms an efficient heat insulating layer of air on the skin, and the baselayer’s stretchable nature ensures zero gaps between it and the body. Zerofit innovators have also created the Thermo Weave to suppress cold, negative sweat, resulting in outstanding comfort and feel for athletes exercising in temperatures of up to 15°C. The garment stretches up to five times more than its ‘base state’ which gives athletes an incredible combination of freedom of movement and aerodynamic performance.
Zerofit’s Cool Weave baselayer is constructed using technologically advanced EVACOOL fabric which creates a cooling effect during exercise that prevents the athlete from overheating and dropping performance levels in warmer conditions. As the temperature increases, the Cool Weave’s water absorbing polymer shrinks to diffuse sweat quickly, promoting transpiration and thereby creating that cooling effect. It has been designed with less compression than the Thermo Weave and also works well for recreational, lower intensity training runs in temperatures of between 15°C and 35°C.
The unique warp knitted mesh structure helps to disperse sweat rapidly, leading to a dry feeling without a restriction of movement. Additionally, the arms and neck of the Cool Weave have a UPF50+ rating which offers up protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
The Zero Weave has been designed for athletes training or competing at high intensities in the warmest temperatures (up to 40°C), utilising super stretch properties rather than compression to ensure the athlete stays comfortable for the duration of the exercise.
The ultra-fine fibres combine with the extra-large pores of the warp knitted mesh structure to effectively remove sweat more efficiently than any other Zerofit product, making it an ideal garment for the summer months. The arms and neck area have been designed with a finer knitting process in order to limit the effects of the sun’s UV rays.
All three baselayers have been refined with a silver ion treatment which suppresses odour-causing bacteria, ensuring the products retain their newness wash after wash.
‘As a passionate athlete myself, I enjoy the challenge of training in different conditions throughout the year, and I wanted Zerofit to produce performance enhancing baselayers that could work in a wide range of temperatures,’ said Mr Koji Higashi, founder of Zerofit and owner of Eon Sports.
‘The climate here in Japan is extremely varied throughout the year, and while our Heatrub Ultimate and Heatrub Move are ideal in the winter months, the trio of Weave products have been engineered to optimise performance in the spring and summer,’ he added.
